What Is MyMind?
MyMind is a life science company based in Vienna.
MyMind’s first target group are children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and then Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). ASD is part of the personal story of the two founders as their daughter was diagnosed with ASD. ADHD often is comorbid with ASD, i.e., is diagnosed as a second disorder alongside ASD and is related to the impairment. Both groups have social behaviour issues as well as learning and concentration difficulties as part of their symptomatology. This might affect every aspect of daily life, e.g., child meltdowns resulting in the entire family avoiding social gatherings or child’s scalp hyperexcitability rendering visits to the hairdresser impossible.
There are 2.2 million children (age 6-16) affected by ASD and there are 13.8 million children (age 6-16) affected by ADHD in the EU and US. MyMind targets these age groups because early interventions of children with ASD or ADHD can help improve their abilities later in life – giving them a chance as adults to become part of society.
